The Mosin Nagant is a bolt-action rifle found in Apocalypse Rising.
The Mosin Nagant was designed by Captain Sergei Mosin and Léon Nagant in 1891. The rifle was manufactured in both the Russian Empire and the USSR through 1891 and 1965, reaching to a total number of 37 million rifles. The Mosin Nagant first saw combat in its first variant, the Mosin Nagant M1891, which was first used in the Russo-Japanese War of 1889.
The Mosin Nagant is a rifle that has been favored by many in Apocalypse Rising due to its superior accuracy. The rifle uses 7.62x54 mmR rounds that are stored in 5 round magazines. It also uses a bolt-action mechanism. In reality, the rifle is internally fed through the built in magazine, but in the game it is not. The Mosin gives the user high recoil and has a barrel length of 730 mm. Noise level is high, using it inside urban areas is not recommended. The rifle cannot be modified, which means no optical sights, under barrel, or barrel attachments can be added to it. Effective range of the rifle is long and maximum effective range reaches 500 m. Overall this, the rife is a perfect weapon for starters. It is NOT recommended for close quarter combat due to it being a bolt-action. Which puts it at a disadvantage to other guns.
- It's ADS is almost completely indistinguishable from 0 and would have the best if it weren't for the M14.
- The Mosin-Nagant was the first primary weapon added into the game.
