The Hatchet is a melee weapon. It is common, and the second most common melee weapon in-game. It is tied for having the most damage of any melee weapon in-game with the Officer's Sabre, but has the second-longest range of any melee weapon, behind the Officer's Sabre. It has a slow swing speed. It spawns in civilian locations, which are any areas that do not spawn military loot. The Hatchet is arguably the best melee weapon in-game (especially because of its larger hitbox than the Officer's Sabre), but the Officer's Sabre is widely considered more useful due to its faster swing speed and longer reach as well as being a highly prized trophy due to its extreme rarity. This weapon is highly recommended for taking out zombies silently without using ammunition.

- The hatchet was the only weapon made by Gusmanak himself (all the others were made by Ralchire).
- Some people prefer Hatchets over Sabres, most likely due to the larger hitbox.
